The Ostomy Care – 50 Hours for COCN Experiential Pathway course provides an in-depth review of the knowledge and clinical skills involved in caring for patients with ostomies, continent diversions, fistulae, and percutaneous tubes and drains.
The curriculum is designed around major areas of specialized ostomy nursing practice, including patient assessment, fecal and urinary diversions, stoma and peristomal skin assessment, pouching systems, complications, fistula management, tubes and drains, care planning, patient education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and referrals.
